An extremely well presented Kolb Twinstar 3 Classic

Aircraft had the wings and tail surfaces recovered 6 years ago and has generally been kept indoors since that time.

Engine has just 50 hours since a total rebuild including crank being replaced.

Specifications include the following;

- Rotax 582, water cooled
- Carb heating
- Twin ignition
- Twin fuel tanks (2x 25 litre)
- Full instrument fitment, including EGT etc

Included in the sale are;

- Full set of Velux covers
- Trailer (open)
- Spare undercarriage leg and a few other bits

The aircraft will be sold with a full 12 month permit and a new 5 year weight and balance.

For those that don't know the aircraft, it is a kit build microlight registered under the LAA. It has two seats, side by side in a reclined position akin to extremely comfortable bucket seats. The visibility is extremely good all round. It is in the STOL class so needs a very short runway to operate. It also features independent heal brakes for turning on the spot or excellent braking on landing. It has a single yoke, but is a dual control aircraft. The wings can be folded for transport in around 15 minutes. It can be done alone, but is easiest with two persons. Loadig/unloading on the trailer is a one man job with ease. Storing this aircraft at home in the garage isn't hard and keeps the airfield fees down.

This particular aircraft has been in our family for around 7 years now. My father originally had it and restored a lot of the aircraft, recovering the wings and tail surfaces to a high standard. After that the engine was zero hour'ed and the Velux covers made and a new propeller fitted. For the last 4 years it has been mostly unused, aside from regular engine ground runs and storage indoors.

I have enjoyed flying this aircraft around Europe. It has fantastic reliability with the twin ignition/fuel and carb heating. It is a good match to the 582 and I have carried my passengers to 12,000ft ASL on an infrequent basis to enjoy Alpine views.

Please do email with any questions or to arrange a viewing.

The aircraft registration is G-MYIK

The aircraft is currently located near Exeter. A static viewing of the aircraft is ready to arrange, but with wings folded. I am currently away, so with wings assembled and engine running it will be mid December unless it is a serious enquiry, in which case I can fly in to demonstrate the aircraft. The inspector is on standby to permit the aircraft at point of sale, but be aware the permit will be weather dependant.
