FlyQ is proud to offer the only brand new Guimbal Cabri G2 in the UK!
The Cabri G2 is a two seat light helicopter with a three bladed fully articulated main rotor and Fenestron tail rotor. I had the opportunity to fly one of these the other week and I must say I had some of the best fun in a helicopter for some time. If you fly the R22 you will be amazed at what this machine can do.
The G2 uses the latest carbon fiber composite technology in its fuselage, M/R and T/R blades which reduces weight whilst improving strength and service longevity. Bruno Guimbal, the Cabri designer (and former Eurocopter engineer) built this machine with training in mind. The fully articulated, three bladed high inertia rotor system is very forgiving whilst practising autorotations - in fact it beats the S269 which is renowned for its auto capabilities. The main advantage of this system though, is the elimination of Low G / Mast bumping.
The Cabri uses the same Lycoming O360-J2A piston engine as in the R22 BII, but is derated to 145hp as opposed to 131hp in the 22. One significant difference between the two is the magneto system - the Cabri uses one standard magneto plus a custom Plasma II+ ignition system, which once again greatly improves safety.
This machine is very 'hands off', almost everything is automated including carb heat - during start-up all you do is dial in your RPM's and away it goes, no more feathering the throttle. It even has a very nice trim system which is operated using a little joystick on the cyclic, if you trim it just right, you can let go of the cyclic and it'll keep attitude and heading. All this greatly reduces pilot workload and fatigue.
We would be delighted to show you around and give you a quick test flight - if you need a type rating (which you probably will do) we can include this in the package.
If you are coming from abroad, then we’ll meet you at a convenient airport and as usual with all aircraft that Fly Q sell, we'll help you with any exporting, shipping and delivery issues. We love to deliver aircraft all over Europe, and we recommend road transport only as a last resort.
